Free furniture for NYCHA homes

Beds, dressers, sofas, tables, lamps, and more. Everything is free, and here's how to request what your household needs.

Please know before requesting: Our furniture is donated and gently used unless otherwise noted. When Repurposed Life delivers furniture to a household, delivery is curbside only. The recipient is responsible for bringing the items from the curb into the building and up to the apartment.

Three ways onto the list

Pop-ups are for pre-registered NYCHA residents. Dates are set as trucks and locations are booked, so the surest way to hear about one is to get on the list.

Your resident association

Many RAs sign up their whole development and host the pop-up. Ask your RA president whether one is in the works.

Your caseworker or agency

Caseworkers, social workers, and senior centers can refer a household directly.

Pop-ups move around the five boroughs, most often in NYCHA parking lots and on basketball courts.

Request furniture

Pop-ups are for residents who register through their resident association, a caseworker, or this form.

We call it shopping, because it is.

Everything at a pop-up is free. You walk the tables, pick what fits your home, and take it with you.

  1. Get on the list

    Sign up through your resident association, ask your caseworker to refer you, or email us directly.

  2. Come shop

    Beds, dressers, sofas, tables, lamps, small appliances. Whatever came off the truck that day.

  3. Take it home

    Bring a cart or a neighbor. Volunteers help load up big pieces.

Home delivery policy

Furniture is donated and gently used unless noted otherwise. Home deliveries are curbside only. Repurposed Life does not carry furniture into buildings or apartments. Please have family, friends, neighbors, a cart, or other help ready to bring the items inside.
